Glossybox August 2014 Overview

Glossybox August 2014 Overview

For those of you who aren't aware Glossybox is a beauty sample subscription box.

Each box contains 5 beauty items.

The box is £13.25 (inc. P&P) for a monthly subscription and there are other subscription lengths available too.

The box contents vary from box to box i.e. not everyone receives exactly the same products as each other.

This post contains an affiliate link listed below. I've added an 'Affiliate Link' so that you can find the product easily. The link, when clicked, takes you to the page where you can buy the product. If you decide to buy then I make a small commission amount on the sale, at no extra cost to you.

You can find Glossybox here:
(US) [Affiliate Link]

This is an overview and my immediate impressions, before I open any of the items (unless stated) in my August Glossybox. I will post individual reviews of the product as and when I have used them.

Please note: the prices and the website stockists are off my Glossybox product card and you may be able to find the products elsewhere.

Here are the products that I received in my August Glossybox.

Kryolan for Glossybox
Colour: Cashmere
£12.95 Full Size 4.5g -

A gloss finish, lightweight cream highlighter. Has the versatility to be used to 'highlight' many areas of the skin such as the cupid's bow and cheekbones.

First impression:
Nice shape - perfect shape for storage, no rolling around!
Glossybox logo on the lid - looks perfect on the little pot.
The highlight appears to be golden toned - will be nice when I have a tan.
Highlight particles seem very fine rather than 'glittery'.

I have lots of highlighters, at the moment, but will probably try this soon anyway.  Just in case it's better than the ones that I already use!

L'Amour Lalique
Eau De Parfum
Sample 0.06fl oz/2ml (£67 full size 50ml -

A fragrance that is sensually floral and has notes of Bergamot, white flowers, Rosebud and Musk amongst others.

First impression:
The vial has a 'shaker' at the top under the lid - this is new to me!
Perfect amount dispensed.
Floral fragrance - a soft floral not powdery at all.

I opened this and tested it - love the fragrance, oh, yes, I do.

Philip Kingsley
Sample 1.35fl oz/40ml (£38 full size 250ml -

Pre-shampoo treatment that leaves hair manageable, bouncy and shiny.

First impression:
Great size sample.
Have heard and seen rave reviews of this item.
Came just at the right time - my hair needs a boost right now!
Suitable for coloured hair.

After the rave reviews saying how fantastic it is for damaged hair I'm eager to try it...

Pep Cosmeceuticals
SkinPep® Super C15 Serum
£13.99 Full Size 7ml -

A hypo-allergenic, stabilised Vitamin C serum that's paraben, alcohol and perfume free.

First impression:
Eye catching packaging.
Dropper bottle style which I prefer to pump bottles for serums.
I've never heard of the company or product before.

I need a serum, a bit apprehensive about trying it as I have sensitive skin. However, there are clear instructions on the box that help.

Birthday Bonus!

Yves Rocher
Pink Nail Polish
Colour: Rose
Full Size £3.60 3ml -

Mini nail polish.

First impression:
I would describe it as a dusky rose colour.
Nice touch to celebrate Glossybox's 3rd birthday.

I've never tried Yves Rocher's nail polish before so will be interested to see how it compares to other brands that I own...

Figs & Rouge
Rose Berry Hand Cream
Sample 0.67oz/20ml (£6.95 Full Size 80ml -

A pure and natural, nourishing and soothing yet, non-greasy hand cream that contains shea butter and algae extract.

First impression:
I thought it was a lip balm because in a similar packaging.
Great size for handbag.
Vibrant and colourful tube.

The bright packaging makes me feel extra happy.  I love Figs & Rouge lip balms and hope that this is hand cream is just as good!
